Obituary

James Van Divner of 434 Bluff St.,Belle Vernon died Wednesday,April 29,1981 at 11:45 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.Van Divner was born April 11,1904,in Smock,Pa.,a son of the late Levi and Barbara Van Divner. He was a Baptist by faith. A former coal miner and American Window glass worker,Mr.Van Divner retired as an employee of the U.S.Post Office in Belle Vernon. He had lived in the Belle Vernon area for many years. Survivers include his wife,Thelma Headley Van Divner,at home,two sons,Bill Van Divner of Belle Vernon and Arthur M.Van Divner at home,a daughter,Janice Van Divner of McKeesport,two sisters,Mrs.Alice Veach of Brownsville and Ruth,and four grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be in the funeral home Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Charles Colas,pastor of First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
