Obituary

George (Tucker) Tollan, 75, of Sweeney Plan, Belle Vernon R.D.2, formerly of Fayette City, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 1992, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Tollan was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Brownstown, Fayette City R.D.I, a son of the late Daniel and Rondell Palmer Tollan. He retired from the Tube Mill of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Allenport Works. Mr. Tollan was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club, and the Retired United Steel Workers of America — AFL-CIO-CLC. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Murt Tollan, two sons, Thomas Tollan of Carmichaels and Daniel J. and Beatrice Pender Tollan of Sweeney Plan, Belle Vernon R.D.2, two daughters, Mrs. Jonathon (Patricia) Harris of Covington, Ky., and Mrs. Gary (Maureen) Sanclor of Vail, Colo., 14 grandchildren , eigh t great - grandchildren, one sister, June Scrip, of Elco, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City and Saturday until 11:30 a.m.,when a Prayer service will be held in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home at 8 p.m.on Friday. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home.
