Obituary

Nathan J.Tisot,86,of 409 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Nov.10,1990,at 2:55 a.m. in Jefferson Hospital,Jefferson Borough. Mr.Tisot was born April 11,1904,in Newell,a son of the late James and Margaret Trettel Tisot. He retired in 1974 as a coal miner from the Gateway Coal Mine in Greene County. Mr.Tisot was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and the Holy Name Society of the Church. A life-long resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was also a charter member of Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council No.3026,and a member of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA). Mr.Tisot's wife,Mary Turchek Tisot,died Feb.14,1981. Five brothers,John,Charles,Francis,Raymond and Louis Tisot,and one sister,Rose Landrum,are also deceased. Surviving are one daughter,Mrs.David (Mary A.)Free,of Belle Vernon,four sons,Carroll J.Tisot of Maple Heights,Ohio,Dr.Robert J.Tisot of Philadelphia,Dr.Fred J.Tisot of Medford,N.J.,and Raymond E.Tisot of York,four brothers,Wilbur Tisot of Perryopolis,James Tisot of Allen Park,Mich.,David Tisot of Fairless Hills,and Edward (Ted) Tisot of Bolt,W.Va.,one sister,Kate Wozniak,of Belle Vernon,and 13 grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer Service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a noon Mass of Christian Burial in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.Andrew Kawecki as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
