Cora Lee Thrasher;73;of the Arnold City section of Belle Vernon;died on Wednesday;May 2;1990;at 10:30 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 4;1917;in Dublin;Ga.;a daughter of the late Purvey and Lenora Dupree. Mrs.Thrasher was also preceded in death by a husband;Weldon Thrasher;on June 29;1972;two sons;Stephen in 1976 and Richard in 1990;and six brothers. She was a member of First Christian Church of Wickhaven;Pa. Mrs.Thrasher is survived by one son;Melvin Thrasher of Lorain;Ohio;five daughters;Shirley Thrasher of Detroit;Sylvia Joyner of Las Vegas;Millicent Sellers and Sonia Parker;both of Arnold City;and Kathy Wilson of Rochester;N.Y.;13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;two brothers;Sylvester Dupree and Harding Dupree;both of Arnold City;and three sisters;Rosa McCarthy;Mary Ross and Geneva Calloway;all of Arnold City. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. Remains will lie in state at First Christian Church of Wickhaven on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will be held in the church with Bishop F.M.Thomas of Greater Bethlehem Temple of Pittsburgh officiating. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
