Mr.Tordy was born July 24;1922;in Pricedale;a son of the late Joseph and Julia Puskas Tordy. He was an employee of the page Aluminized Steel Corportation;Monessen. Mr.Tordy served in the U.S.Army with both the Airborne Engineers and the Combat Engineers during World War II. He was a member of St.Luke Lutheran Church;Monessen. Surviving are his wife;Elaine Hahne Tordy;one son;Joseph E. Tordy of El Toro;Calif.;three daughters;Mrs.Tom (Denise) Hornack of Lower Burrell;Pa.;Jodi Tordy of Washington;Pa.;and Mrs.Kurt (Terri) Shutterly of Belle Vernon;five grandchildren;Tom;Erika;Seth;Kylee and Kayla Hornack;five sisters;Mrs.Elizabeth Lynn of Brackenridge;Pa.;Mrs.Andrew (Johanna) Semancik of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Eleanor Toraballa of San Bernardino;Calif.;Mrs.Joseph (Shirley) Petix of Charleroi;and Mrs.Donald (Loretta) Mitchner of Fairhope;one brother;Leslie Lunt;of Smithton;and numerous nieces and nephews.Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral home;Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.followed by additional funeral services at 10 a.m in St.Luke Lutheran Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Charles L.Barber;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. the Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;is in charge of arrangements.
