Obituary

Simeon Deems Theakston,77,of Brownstown,Fayette City R.D.1,died Monday,May 16,1988,at 6:15 a.m.in Presbyterian University Hospital of Pittsburgh. Mr.Theakston was born July 15,1910,in Speers,Washington County,a son of the late Fred and Anna Nickerson Theakston. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Brownstown,and was retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He had served with the U.S.Marines during WW II. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Mary Theakston in January of 1978,and a son,Sheridan Theakston in January of 1968. He is survived by two sons,Harry Theakston and Russell Theakston,and a daughter,Mrs.Wayne (Janice) LaBancz,all of Fayette City R.D.1,18 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren,four sisters,Mrs.Sudie Craig of Uniontown,Minnie Crum of Monessen,Dulcie Postel of Pittsburgh and Betty Smith of Cincinnati,Ohio. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday until 11 a.m.,when services will be held in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,with Rev.Douglas Motilo,pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Brownstown,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
