Obituary

Blanhe A. Toner of Harrisburg,Pa.,formerly of North Belle Vernon,died Monday,Sept. 28,1987,in the Susquehanna Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Harrisburg.  She was 87.  Mrs. Toner was born Sept. 13,1900,in Charleroi,a daughter of the late Ephram and Clarissa Uptegrast Allison. She was the wife of Harold R. Toner,former Belle Vernon funeral director, who died June 15,1975. Mrs. Toner was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon.  She was active in many church,social and music clubs throughtout the Mon Valley.  Music, family and church were the prime motivators of her life. Two brothers, Bert and Harry Mitchell and five sisters, Mary, Rebecca,Sarah and Clara Allison and Nellie Mills are deceased. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William (Betty Toner) Pettibon of Harrisburg,Pa.;four granchldren,Tedd T.,Tolly A.,Tracy C.and Todd O. Pettibon; one niece,Mary S. Houseman of Mapleview,Charleroi and two nephews, Warren R. Houseman of Mapleview,Charleroi and William Mitchell of California. Friends will be received Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon.  Services will be held in the church with the Rev. Charles D. LaPlaca,pastor, and the Rev. Francis M. Blair,pastor of the Presbyterian Church,Charleroi,co-officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in Mrs Toners's memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon. The Raymond D. Dalfonso Funeral Home, 441 Reed ave.,Monessen, is in charge of arrangements.
