Frank Sam Toia of 402 Ferncliff Drive;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;April 7;1985;at 6:30 a.m. at his home. He was 77. Mr.Toia was born August 23;1907;in Ford City; a son of the late Mr.and Mrs. Alexander Toia. He was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Mr.Toia was a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department;in which he was active until the time of his death and had been parade marshal for many years. A Belle Vernon resident for the past 56 years;he retired in 1971 from the mechanical department of the Allenport Plant;Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr.Toia was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife;Lena Tallerico Toia;in 1971. Survivors include his wife;Dorothy Franks Toia; a son and daughter-in-law;Alexander L.and Mary Ann Toia of Belle Vernon;a stepson;William J.Franks of Belle Vernon;two stepdaughters;Mrs.Paul (Dolly) Chaussinand and Mrs. William (Mary Frances) Stewart;both of Fayette City;ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a prayer service will be held Wednesday;April 10 at 9:30 a.m.;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Church. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
