Herman C. Trader of
Second St. Extension; Fayette
City; died Sunday;May 14;1978 at 7:20
a.m. at his home following a
lengthy illness. He was 53.
Mr. Trader was general
foreman of yards and
masonry at the Allenport
Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh
Steel Corp.
He was born June 28;1924 in
Morgantown; W.Va.; son of
the late James Lloyd and
Margaret Ann Hixenbaugh
Trader. His father died in 1968
and his mother in 1964.
A U.S. Navy veteran. Mr.
Trader served in World War II
and the Korean Conflict. He
was a member; of Brightwell
Daugherty Post 484 of the
American Legion in Fayette
City.
He also was a member of
Gummer Lodge 252; F. &
A.M.; Fayette City; past
master of Lodge 1959 Ancient
Accepted Scottish Rite of
Uniontown and Pittsburgh a
life member of the Fayette
City Volunteer Fire Company;
secretary of the Fayette City
Volunteer Fire Company
Relief Association; a member
of Fayette County Firemen’s
Association; former member
of Fayette City Borough
Council and a former borough
auditor;fund a member of
Brick Layers Local 11;
Washington; Pa.
Survivors include his
widow; Grace Louise
Brightwell Trader; one son;
Carl L. Trader;of Charleroi R.D.
1; one sister; Mrs. Joseph
(Frances) Oliver;of Belle
Vernon; and one grandson;
Coby Trader.
Friends will be received at 7
p.m. Monday and from 3 to 5 and
7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday in the
Howard W. McCrory Funeral
Home; Fayette City;where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.;with the Rev.Frank B.Garlathy;pastor of Fayette City United Methodist Church;officiating; Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
