Obituary

Julius Stitch Jr.,67,of 88 Carson St.,Pricedale,died Tuesday,May 30,2000,at 8:50 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital following a short illness. He was born Feb.22,1933,in Pricedale,a son of the late Julius Stitch Sr.and Marie Cribbs Stitch. Mr.Stitch was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon/Pricedale area,and retired as a mill worker from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was Methodist by faith and veteran of the U.S.Army. Survivors include his wife,Anna Johnson,five sons,Lawrence Johnson of Pricedale,Marvin Johnson of the state of California,Julius Stitch III of North Carolina,John Stitch of Pricedale and Robert Stitch of Monessen,four daughters,Gloria Johnson of Belle Vernon,Marvella Johnson of St.Louis,Mo.,Kimberly Stitch of Monessen and Julie Stitch of Pricedale,a brother,Romeo Stitch of Ohio,a sister,Katherine Stitch of Ohio,29 grandchildren,nine great-grandchildren,and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins,relatives and friends. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a son,Timothy Stitch. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Pleasant Green A.M.E.Church,Pricedale,where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.,with the Rev.Ronald Dixon,pastor,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The WILLIAM R.TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME of Monessen,Trudy Taylor Bristol,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
