Bertha Shaw;90;of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;May 27;2000;in her home. Born Dec.26;1909;in Monessen;she was the daughter of the late Slavimir and Bara Loncaric Novisel. She had been a member of Marion United Presbyterian Church in Fairhope since 1948 and was its oldest living member. She was a member of the Willing Workers Class and Missionary Society of the church. She was also a membber of the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;George Shaw;a son;John M. Shaw;and two brothers;Joseph and Thomas Kostelac. Survivors include her children;William A.Novisel and his wife Gloria of Monongahela;George B.Shaw and his wife Diane of Grindstone;James (Sam) W.Shaw and his wife Mary Twinkle of Lanham;Md.;Marion Tootsey of Germantown;Md.;and Patricia (Patti) Maxwell and her husband Oakley of Fairhope;Somerset County;two brothers;Matthew Kostelac and his wife Barbara of Bedford and Nick Kostelac and his wife Sarah of Monessen;three sisters;Mildred Lloyd of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;Sophia Bachinski of Monessen and Mary Paholsky of Belle Vernon;12 grandchildren;Laura Lees;Beth Hogg;Diane Novisel;William Novisel Jr.;Mark Tootsey;Barry Novisel;Frank Maxwell;John William Shaw;Jason Shaw;Scott Shaw;Ryan Shaw and Julie Shaw;and 15 great-grandchildren. Friends were received Sunday and Monday in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME Inc.;334 Main St.;Fayette City;where services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.John Park officiating. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Marion United Presbyterian Church in memory of Bertha Shaw.
