Violet L. Smith,85,of Solomon Street, Belle Vernon,died Sunday,Feb. 14,1999,at 12:45 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born July 21,1913,in Grindstone, a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Pellick Daniero. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon. She had resided in Belle Vernon for over 50 years. She and her sister,Margaret Gilliland,operated a beauty shop on Main Street in Belle Vernon during the 1950's. She retired in 1967 as a teachers' aide from the Belle Vernon Area School District. Survivors include one son,James G. Smith of Fayette City;one daughter and son-in-law,Margie Ann and Charles Drazba of Waldorf,Md.;three brothers,Joseph Daniero of Alexandria, Va.,James Daniero of Richmond,Va.,and Robert Daniero of Thousand Oaks, Calif.;one sister, Margaret Gilliland,with whom she made her home;and one granddaughter, Allison Nicole Drazba.In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven E. Smith on June 25,1981;one brother,George Daniero and one sister, Rose Romanelli. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,Belle Vernon,is in charge of the arrangements.
