Jane Sands;79;of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Jan.1;1999;in Mon Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born May 14;1919;in Washington Township;a daughter of the late Oscar and Olga Kalmi Sands. She was a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church;Belle Vernon. Survivors include one sister;Helen Parker of Portsmouth;Va. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by two sisters;Irene Daniels in July 1994;and Vilma Mackey in December 1998;and three brothers;David;Leo and Oscar Sands. Friends will be received Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Eley/McCrory Funeral Home Inc.;Fayette City;and Monday until 10:30 a.m.;when Prayer services will be held;followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.in the Lynnwood Lutheran Church;Belle Vernon;with pastor Donald Chudd officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Eley/McCrory Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
