MAry Y. Shlanta, 87, of Sweeney Plan, Rostraver Township, died Saturday,Oct. 17,1998,in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Sremska, Mitrovica, Yugoslovia on Nov. 8,1910.a daughter of the late Andrew and Yustina (Holod) Yachup. Mrs. Shlanta was a homemaker and a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church. She is survivd by a son, Theodore Shlanta of Rostraver Township. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Elmer Shlanta on March 24,1979 and five brothers, John, Walter, Victor,Sam and Ted Yachup. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc. 580 Circle Dr.,Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township. Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Very Rev. John J. Kluchko,pastor of Holy Resurrecion Orthodox Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
