Thaddeus H. (Ted) Sobek,79,of Lynnwood,Belle Vernon,died Sunday,June 8,1997,at home. Born March 15,1918,in Fayette City,he was the son of the late Mike and Mary Ciba Sobek. Mr. Sobek was retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and Brightwell-Daugherty Post 484 American Legion,Fayette City. He was also a member of PNA Lodge #976,Arnold City. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers,Joseph and Larry Sobek;an infant brother,and a sister, Stella Arrigo. Surviving are his wife,Frances A. Ambrozich Sobek;a daughter,Mary Jane Sobek,at home;a son and daughter-in-law,Ted F.and Deana Sobek of Fayette City R.D.;a granddaughter,Alexa Sobek;a sister,Ann Semancik of Fayette City;and a brother, Carl Sobek of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until 9:30 a.m. in the Eley/McCrory Funeral Home Inc.,Fayette City. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.Wednesday,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Eley/McCrory Funeral Home Inc.
