Charles T.Smith;83;of Rostraver Township;died Tuesday;May 20;1997;at 10 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Sept.5;1913;in Belle Vernon;he was the son of the late Frank and Emily White Smith. A resident of Rostraver Township for more than 50 years;Mr.smith was a member of the Smithton Nazarene Church and the Rostraver Lions Club. He was a former member of the United Mine Workers of America and retired from the paint department of the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Rose Dudgeon Smith;who died March 2;1989;and two sisters;Sarah Stewart and Gertrude Lunt. Surviving are two daughters;Myra Smith Dolence of Finleyville and Sharon Smith of Greensburg;two granddaughters;Carolyn Kelly of McMurray and Christina Calbone of Daytona Beach;Fla.;and two great-grandsons;Christian and Colin Kelly. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home;with Pastor Gerald R.Dunlap of the Smithton Nazarene Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
