Margaret J.Smith;89;formerly of Monessen;died Thursday;April 10;1997;at 1:43 p.m.in Canonsburg Hospital. She was born May 28;1907;in Monessen;a daughter of the late Richard and Susan Kelly. A lifelong resident of Monessen;she was a member of the St.Leonard Roman Catholic Church;Monessen. She was a resident of the Greenery Rehabilitation Center;Canonsburg;for the past 11 years. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law;Robert C.Smith Jr.of Buffalo;N.Y.;and Theodore Smith of Upper St.Claire;14 grandchildren;and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Robert C.Smith Sr.in 1986;one son;Alfred E.Smith Sr.in 1995;one granddaughter;Kelly J.Smith in 1993;three brothers;and five sisters. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home;First Street and Schoonmaker Avenue;Monessen;where funeral srvices will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev.James Clark of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church;Monessen;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
