Obituary

Jano Eugene Salvino,83,of 537 Green St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,May 26,1993,at 7:49 a.m.in his home.  Mr.Salvino was born Nov.23,1909,in Monessen,a son of the late Joseph and Mary Spadafore Salvino.  He retired in 1970 from the former Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,where he was employed as a second helper in the Open Hearth Department.  Mr.Salvino had been a resident of the Belle Vernon community for the past 53 years.  He was a U.S.Navy veteran of World War II.  Mr.Salvino was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and Belle Vernon American Legion Post No.659.  Surviving are his wife of 53 years,Lena Pupilli Salvino,one son,Eugene J.Salvino of Pittsburgh,three grandsons,Jarrod,Todd and Carmen Salvino,a brother,James Salvino of Belle Vernon,and three sisters,Edith Beneccio and Carrie Palm,both of Monessen,and Irene Baron of Belle Vernon.  Several brothers and sisters are deceased.  Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon.  Belle Vernon American Legion Post No.659 will hold services Thursday at 7 p.m.in the funeral home.  A Prayer service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m.in the funeral home,followed by an 11 a.m.Mass of Christian Burial in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
