Obituary

Thelma Hackenson Schmidt,84,of 109 Allen Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday,Feb.23,1993,at 4:05 a.m.in Country Care Manor,Fayette City. Mrs.Schmidt was born May 13,1908,in Frank,Pa.,a daughter of the late Harry Hackenson Sr.and Elvina Whiteman Hackenson. She had been a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. Mrs.Schmidt was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. Surviving are her husband of 60 years,Henry Schmidt,a son and daughter-in-law,Henry A.and Doris Schmidt of Levittown,three grandsons,John,Allen and Richard Schmidt,a brother,Jack D.Hackenson of Charleroi, a sister,Mrs.Mary Momyer of Bowling Green,Ohio,and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers,Elmer and Leo Hackenson and Harry Hackenson Jr.and three sisters,Bertha,Sylvia and Violet Hackenson,are deceased. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.James D.Burton,pastor,First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
