Mamie Smith;88;of 806 Crest Ave.;Charleroi;died Thursday;Oct.31;1991;in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Aug.18;1903;a daughter of the late William and Julia Coats. She was a resident of the Mid-Mon Valley for many years. She was a member of the Mt.Sinai Baptist Church;North Charleroi;where she was a former missionary and a former deaconess. She was a former member of the Central Baptist Church;Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Smith in 1981 and one sister;Lola Matthews in 1969. Survivors include cousins;Serenn Isbell and Sylvia Watson;both of Charleroi and Lewis and Patricia Rawls;with whom she made her home. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Mt.Sinai Baptist Church;North Charleroi;where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Keith Jones;associate minister of the Mt.Sinai Baptist Church;officiating;assisted by the Rev.Wanda Sawyer;associate minister of the Mt.Sinai Baptist Church. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home;613 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;is in charge of the arrangements.
