Mrs.Sholtis was born April 30;1897;in Hazelton;a daughter of the late John and Mary Sciranka Surovchak. A former resident of Monessen;she was a member of St.John Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her husband;Andrew Sholtis;died in 1926. Also deceased are two sons;Paul and Andrew Sholtis;two brothers;Michael and John Surovchak;and three sisters;Anna Trussa;Betty Buchta and Sue Yasenka. Surviving are two sons;John Sholtis of Richmond;Va.;and Joseph Sholtis of Monongahela;one daughter;Mrs.Anthony (Betty) Pasque;of Pittsburgh;11 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren;two great-great-grandchildren;two sisters;Helen Brindzak of Belle Vernon and Julia Brueger of Canton;Ohio;one brother;Andrew Surovchak;of Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the L.M.Frye Funeral Home Inc.;427 W.Main St.;Monongahela. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m.Monday in St.John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church;Charleroi;with the Rev.Stephen Hurnyak officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
