Obituary

Rose Dudgeon Smith of Belle Vernon R.D.2 died Thursday,March 2,1989,at 2:20 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 76. Mrs.Smith was born April 18,1912,in Belle Vernon,a daughter of the late William and Georganna Smock Dudgeon. A member of the Nazarene Church of Monongahela,she had lived in Rostraver Township the past 40 years. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by five sisters,Maggie Carroll,Mary Kissell,Jess Monti, Lily Palmer and Sarah Smith. Survivors include her husband,Charles T.Smith,two daughters,Mrs.Robert (Myra) Dolence of Finleyville and Sharon Smith of Canonsburg,two brothers,Frank Dudgeon of Florida and Clyde Lehew of Sterling Heights,Mich.,two sisters,Ann Wells of Belle Vernon and Vera Fike of Charleroi,and two grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Miller,pastor of the Nazarene Church of Monongahela,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
