Obituary

Norma Soroka of 536 Green St.,Belle Vernon, died Thursday,May 5,1988, at 9 p.m. in Allegheny General Hospital,Pittsburgh. She was 67.  Mrs. Soroka was born May 13,1920,in Brownsviile, a daughter of Mae Stevenson Beasley of Alameda, Calif.,and the late James Beasley. A Belle Vernon resident most of her life,she was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Auxiliary.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Cherry" Soroka in 1964. In addition to her mother,survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Patricia) Schmitz of Almeda, Calif. and Carol Soroka of Belle Vernon; three sisters, Dorothy Protin of Belle Vernon, Ruth DeSimone and Marjorie Beasley,both of Almeda, Calif.; two granddaughters, Tracy Lynn and Teri Rae Schmitz; a close companion,Dominick Sack of Belle Vernon and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, where a Blessing service will be held Tuesday,May 10,at 10 a.m. with Father John Kluchko, pastor of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
