Obituary

Wayne D. Sprouse, 72, of Brownsville, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1988, at his residence. Born in Monessen on July 31,1915, he was the son of the late Hollis C. and Mary V. Moyer Sprouse. He retired in 1975 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Allenport Plant, where he was a stacker in the shears department for 25 years. He was a member of the Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, Brownsville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Brownsville American Legion Post 940. He was member of the Steelworkers Union and a social member of the Hiller Fire Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Randolph Sprouse in 1980, one brother, Argust Sprouse, one sister, Evelyn Sprouse Brown, and a sister, in infancy. Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Lee Sprouse, at home, three nephews, Keith Sprouse of Florida, Grant E. Brown of Michigan, and Ned Brown of Ohio, and two nieces, Janice Sprouse Dalton of Maryland, and Carol Brown Townsend of New Jersey. Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home, 126 Front St., Brownsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wedneday at 10 a.m.in the funeral home,with Pastor Andrew T.Barton of the Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,where full military services will be held. The Norman J.Wimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
