Obituary

Jean Castelli Spada of 600 Graham St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday morning,Jan.12,1985,in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was 85. Mrs.Spada was born Sept.5,1899,in San Palo,Brazil,a daughter of the late Virgil and Amelia Castelli. A Belle Vernon resident since 1969,she was Catholic by faith. Mrs.Spada retired in 1962 from the finishing department of Corning Glass Works,Charleroi. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers,Triano and Ovido. Survivors include a son,Leo A.Spada Sr.of Charleroi,a daughter,Mrs.Cleo Capco of Belle Vernon,with whom she made her home,three sisters,Mrs.Josephine Sylvester of Castle Shannon,Mrs.Joseph (Angeline) Priete of Pittsburgh and Mrs.Robert (Verna) Philps of Gaithersburg,Md.,four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave,Belle Vernon,where a blessing service will be held Tuesday,Jan.15,at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Pierre Sodini,pastor of Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church of Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
