Obituary

Miller Savage,67,of 921 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Tuesday,May 4,1982,at 6:55 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. Mr.Savage was born Jan.15,1915 in Lowber,Pa.,a son of the late Fred and Kathryn Susic Savage. He was a member of the Charleroi Elks and UMWA Local 1190. A resident of Belle Vernon for over 50 years,Mr.Savage was the former owner and operator of Tremont Coal Company in Belle Vernon. At the time of his death he was employed as a mine inspector for the Safety Division of UMWA. Survivors include his widow,Anne Kurpiel Savage,one daughter,Mrs.Rudy (Madeline) Clark of Monterey Park,Calif.,two brothers,George Savage of Muse,Pa.,and Nick Savage of Belle Vernon,three sisters,Mrs.Dorothy Phillips of East McKeesport,Mrs.Mary Dorich of Hollywood,Calif.,and Mrs.Mildred Koslasky of Belle Vernon,one grandson,Mark Allen Clark,and his mother-in-law,Mrs.Mary Kurpiel of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Elks Lodge of Charleroi services will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday,May 7,at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,in charge of arrangements.
