Dr.Carol Ann Spencer;formerly of Monessen;died suddenly at her home in Stockton;Calif.;on Wednesday;Oct.28;1981;of an apparent heart attack. She was 39. Dr.Spencer was born Sept.19;1942;in Monessen;a daughter of the Rev.and Mrs.Harrison J.Spencer;who reside n Monongahela. A graduate of Monessen High School;Dr.Spencer received her RN degree from South Side Hospital School of Nursing;Pittsburgh. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Duquesne University;Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in public health from the University of PIttsburgh. In May of 1981;Dr.Spencer graduated with honors from the Meharry Medical College in Nashville;Tenn.;as a physician. At the time of her death;she was a resident physician in surgical specialty of Urology Flexable Surgery at San Joaquin General Hospital;Stockton;Calif. In addition to her parents;she is survived by three sisters;Mrs.Jane Spencer Harris of Pittsburgh;Lt.Col.Dorothy E.Spencer of Fort Meade;Md.;and Mrs.Harriet Spencer Wade of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;Monessen;on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Union Baptist Church with the Rev.Timothy Combs;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Draper Funeral directors are in charge of arrangements.
