Richard E. Rocca,82,of Belle Vernon R.D.3,died Wednesday,Dec. 4,1996,in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in Newell on June 18,1914, a son of the late Saverio and Maria Adeline Rocca. Mr. Rocca was retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Survivors include his wife, Mariam (Nusser) Rocca; a son, Richard D. Rocca of Greensburg; a stepson,Nicholas Plevel of Belle Vernon R.D.3; two daughters.Patricia Blakley of Washington and Maria Hiles of Grindstone; three sisters, Mae Traversari of New Salem, Mary Ellen Cain of Perryoplis and Irene Lama of Newell; seven grandchildren,six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Mike,Dominick,Ernest and Albert Rocca;and three sisters, Rose Moore,Anna Dandrea and Josephine Andrews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc.,Sweeney Plan, Rostraver Township. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. D.W.Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
