Obituary

Steve T.Rockidge,76,of the Fayette City-Belle Vernon Road,Fayette City R.D.1,died Tuesday,July 24,1990,at 6:35 p.m.in his home following a lengthy illnes. He was born Dec.13,1913,in Fayette City,a son of the late Samuel and Helen Rockidge. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City. He was a member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club and the Naomi Athletic Club. He was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Anna Cope Rockidge on Oct.22,1975. Survivors include one brother,Thomas Rockidge of Charleroi,five sisters,Anna Simmons of Belle Vernon,Helen Rockidge of Coraopolis,Mary Tharp of Cleveland,Barbara Pulaski and Elizabeth Rockidge,both of Charleroi,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Prayer services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,with the Rev.Richard Mackiewicz,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. There will be a church wake service Thursday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
