Richard S.Rogus;65;of 819 Jane Ave.;Charleroi (Speers Hill);died Wednesday;Jan.25;1989;at 11:15 p.m.at his home. He was born May 22;1923;in Hazelton;a son of the late Stanley and Clara Borowiak Rogus. Mr.Rogus had lived in Speers for the past 30 years and was a member of the borough’s Planning Commission. He retired in June;1988;after 39 years of service with the Allegheny Power Service Co.in Greensburg;where he had been the area transmission supervisor. He was a member of St.Jerome Roman Catholic Church;Charleroi;the Charleroi Elks;where he was a past exalted ruler;the Charleroi VFW;the Charleroi Sportsmen’s Club;and the Professional Engineering Society of Pennsylvania. He was a U.S.Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife;Anne Bedio Rogus;two sons;Richard Rogus of Monroeville and Ronald Rogus of Boston;Mass.;one daughter;Mrs.David (Diane) Varner;at home;two grandchildren;Deena Varner and Brent Rogus;one brother;Bernard Rogus of Philadelphia;and one sister;Nancy Lynn of Bloomsburg. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m.on Saturday;then proceed to St.Jerome Roman Catholic Church;Charleroi;for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.;with Fr.John Marcucci officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
