Obituary

Amelia (Meek) Rossi of 524 Charles St.,Speers Hill,Charleroi died Friday,Nov.22,1985,at 5:41 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was 71. Mrs.Rossi was born July 15,1914,in Roscoe,a daughter of the late Henry and Amelia Wainwright. She was a member of the Speers United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Guild of the church. Mrs.Rossi had lived in Speers for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Speers AARP. She was a retired employee of the Washington County Recorder of Deeds Office,and for many years had worked on the Election Board in Speers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband,Dayton Curl,a son,Terry,a sister.Alice Pender,and two brothers,Edward and William Wainwright. Survivors include her husband,Ramo Rossi,a son,Samuel D.Curl of Speers Hill,a daughter,Mrs.Charles (Nannette) Strother of Salt Lake City,Utah,a stepson,Robert Rossi of Olean,N.Y.,a brother,Howard Wainwright of Morgantown,W.Va.,two sisters,Edythe Durbin of Hanover,Canada,and Thelma Watson of Uniontown,and five grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday,Nov.26,at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Zane Howland,pastor of the Speers United Methodist Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
