Arthur W. Richards of 547 Henry St., Belle Vernon, died Friday,April 2,1982, at 2 a.m. in Jefferson Center Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Richards was born Jan. 27,1899 in Belle Vernon, and resided there his entire life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon. Mr. Richards was also a member of Belle Vernon F&AM Lodge No. 643, Lodge of Perfection of Uniontown, Shrine of Pittsburgh and the Mon Valley Caravan No. 17. He also served on the Belle Vernon Cemetery Association Board. Mr. Richards retired in 1966 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp,, where he had worked as chief electrician. Survivors include his widow, Ethel Fields Richards; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, on Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,where services will be held on Monday,April 5,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Dinsel,pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
