Obituary

Walter E. Ronk of Star Junction died Saturday.Jan. 9,1982,in Uniontown Hospital.  He was 83.  Mr. Ronk was born March 8,1898,in Jacobs Creek,a son of the late Joseph and Martha Lynn Ronk. A member of the United Mine Workers of America,he retired in 1960 from Banning No. 1 Mine. He was married for 61 1/2 years, having wed the former Goldie King,who survives,in 1920.  Mt. Ronk was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens of Perryopolis.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Shrader, on Jan. 25,1981. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Raymond E. Ronk of Fort Lauderdale,Fla., and Walter K. Ronk of Cleveland,Ohio;two daughters, Mrs. George (Edith) Holan of Cleveland,Ohio and Mrs. Ray (Dolores) Eberts of Belle Vernon R.D.;eight grandchildren,five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.  Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m.,with the Rrev. David V. Leonard of the Tthomas Universalist Church of Smithton officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
