Margaret Shimko Pozum;82;of Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;May 24;2000;in her home. Born Oct.31;1917;in Fayette City;she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Kovalecki Shimko. She was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Nick Pozum;and a sister;Ann Stanish. Survivors include her children;Mary Ann Bricker and husband James of Cuyahoga Falls;Ohio;Darlene Dolly Sowden and husband William of Belle Vernon;Carole Gardner and husband Gerald Galvie of California;Paulette Pohovich and husband Larry of Carmichaels;Andrea Pohlot and husband Mike of Fayette City;Terry Pozum and wife Marsha of Clarksville;two brothers;Andrew Shimko of Belle Vernon and George Shimko of St.Petersburg;Fla.;12 grandchildren;Jimmy and David Bricker;Rob;Scott and Leslie Sowden;Rich and Gregg Gardner;Kristi and Jackelyn Pozum;Michael;Joshua and Zachary Pohlot;and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.;334 Main St.;Fayette City;and Saturday until 12:30 p.m.;when a blessing service will be held in the funeral home;followed by Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in St.Sebstian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;with the Rev.John Cindric as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
