Obituary

Paul R.Puglia,79,of Belle Vernon died Monday,Oct.24,1994 at 9:14 a.m.at his home. Born Dec.22,1914,in Revere,he was a son of the late Joseph and Madeline Landro Puglia. Mr.Puglia was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,the Star Junction Fish and Game Club and the National Rifle Association. A Belle Vernon resident since 1946,Mr.Puglia was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired in 1983 from the U.S.Army Corps of Engineers,having worked at Lock Four. Mr.Puglia was a U.S.Army survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor,having been attached to Battery D-755 Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion. In March 1946,he married Constance DeSimone Puglia,who survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law,Paul A.and Deborah Puglia of Belle Vernon R.D.4,three brothers,Alfred and Eugene Puglia,both of Brownsville,and Sylvester Landro of Pleasant Hills,three sisters,Lois Funk of Munhall,Inez Terry of Dearborn,Mich.,and Virginia Kret of Footdale and three grandchildren,Whitney,Alan and Brett Puglia. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.John Cindric,pastor,as celebrant. Burail will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
