Frances Elizabeth (Winstone) Popp;83;of 1104 Rostraver St.;Monessen died Wednesday;May 31;1989 in the Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. She was born in Monessen;Aug.11;1905;a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Jones Winstone. She was a Monessen resident all of her life. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Howard William Popp;and several brothers and sisters; Mrs.John (Margaret) Mesher;Mrs.Raymond (Florence) Popp;David C.Winstone;and Harry Winstone Sr. Mrs.Popp was a member of the Frst Baptist Church of Monessen. She was involved with the original organization of the Camp Fire Girls. Additionally;she was a member of the Monessen AARP. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law;Mr.and Mrs.Scott W.(Kay Frances) Blair of Perryopolis;one son;Arthur L.Popp of Monessen;four grandchildren;Arlene DeStefon;Dennis Popp;Shan Vagnoni;and Megan Blair;two great-grandchildren;Shannon DeStefon and Sean DeStefon;one brother;George Winstone of Rostraver Township;one sister;Mrs.William J.(Rowena) Kioski of Belle Vernon;and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.in the funeral home with Rev.William Anderson officiatng. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
