Catherine M. Prentice of 720 Lookout Ave.,Charleroi,died Sunday, Jan. 29,1989,at 2:49 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 77. Mrs. Prentice was born Sept. 23,1911,in Columbus, Ohio,a daughter of the late Andrew and Cecelia Huber Jackson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Goodwill Club, both of Charleroi. Mrs.Prentice retired after 19 years as a school guard for the Charleroi Area School District. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Prentice and by a sister, Sally Lancaster. Survivors include two sons,William C. Prentice of Fallowfield Township and Ronald R. Prentice of Rostraver Twp., three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Rhoda) Yates of Allenport,and Dolores E. Prentice and Patricia L. Beveridge,both of Charleroi;20 grandchildren;24 great-grandchildren;two brothers, Robert Jackson of North Charleroi and Andrew Jackson of Troy, MIch.;one sister, Bertha Urwin of Charleroi and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held Wednesday,Feb. 1,at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Milliken,pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
