Raymond D.Popp Sr.of 509 Fourth St.;New Eagle;died Sunday;Dec.25;1988;in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 82. Mr.Popp was born Nov.19;1906;in Rostraver Township;a son of the late John and Lydia Brown Popp. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church;New Eagle. Mr.Popp retired in 1971 as a superintendent for American Bridge Company;a subsidiary of the U.S.Steel Corp. In 1987 he received his 50-year pin frm Local No.3 of the United Ironworkers. A resident of New Eagle since 1955;he was preceded in death by his first wife;Florence Winstone Popp;three sisters;Anna Elder;Lila Slavania and Mildred Green;four brothers;Walter;John;Howard and Roy Popp;and by two infant sons;Roy and Wendy. Survivors include his wife;Glenna Ross Popp;two sons;Raymond D.popp Jr. and Blaine W.Popp;both of Pittsburgh;one daughter;Mrs.Vaughn (Debra) Gilbert of Elizabeth Township;two stepsons;Lynn Wilson of Columbus;Ohio;and Michael Wilson of New Eagle;two stepdaughters;Mrs.Howard (Debby) Pegram of Monongahela and Cindy Wilson of Philadelphia;one sister;Devona Hornak of Belle Vernon R.D.4 and six grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Wednesday;Dec.28;1988;at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Nevin J.Werron;pastor of Riverview Baptist Church of New eagle;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
