Janet Cowan Patterson of 308 Johnson Ave., Pricedale,died Sunday,Oct. 11,1987,at 7:50 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was 70. Mrs. Patterson was born March 26,1917,in Scotland,a daughter of the late James and Margaret Cowan. In addition to her parents whe was preceded in death by her husband,Lloyd C. Patterson,Dec. 2,1986;and by a brother,Alex Cowan. A lifelong resident of Pricedale she was a member of Pricedale Union Church,Belle Vernon Order of Eastern Star Chapter 196,Rostraver AARP and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Auxiliary. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce C. and Marguerite Pattersonof Belle Vernon;one sister,Mrs. Henry (Mary) Bush of Pricedale;and two grandchildren,Sean and Carin Patterson,both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday,Oct. 14,at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David R. Reeves Jr.,pastor of the Pricedale Union Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon Order of Eastern Star Chapter 196 will hold a service at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
