Sarah M.Pocky;of 205 Wood St.Belle Vernon;died Saturday;April 18;1987;at 2:20 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 80. Mrs.Pocky was born in Monessen on May 19;1906;a daughter of the late Edward and Alta Frye Cady. She was a member of First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon. She lived in Belle Vernon since 1950;when she moved from Monessen. In 1969;she retired after 18 years of teaching in the elementery schools of the Belle Vernon Area School District. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Albert A.Pocky;on June 12;1983. Survivors include a son;Albert M.Pocky of Belle Vernon R.D.4;two daughters;Melva M.Pocky of Washington;D.C.;and Mrs.James (Carole) Chacko of Charleroi;a sister;Mrs.Mabel Anderson of Monessen;and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday;11 a.m.;at the funeral home with the Rev.Thomas St.Clair;pastor of First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and the Rev.Earl M.Lehman;pastor of First Baptist Church of Monessen;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Director Shelby D.Ferguson is in charge of the arrangements.
