Mrs. Payne was born in Belle Vernon on May 8;1924; a daughter of the
late John Russell and Ada M. Braxton Payne.
She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church; Belle Vernon.
Survivors include a son; Robert
Carpenter of Donora; four
daughters; Marva McWilliams of
New York; Michelle Carpenter and
Sandra Carpenter; both of Donora;
and Antonette Sloan of Central; S.C.;
two brothers; Russell Payne of
Monessen and Williard Tinsley of
Connellsville; three sisters; Hazel
Osborne of Belle Vernon; Mae Moore
of Torrence; and Leah Cheatham of
Monessen; an aunt; Malissa Harriston of Connellsville; an uncle;
Carie Smith of Connellsville; a
devoted friend; John Robinson of
Belle Vernon; four grandchildren;
and a host of nieces; nephews and
other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received at the
Percy E. Law Jr. Funeral Home;
1324 Meldon Ave.; Donora; on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Antioch Baptist Church; Belle Vernon;
on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church Wednesday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Luther Warmack officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Percy E.law Jr.Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
