Obituary

Michael Praskavich of 220 Reed Ave.,Monessen,died suddenly on Thursday,May 29,1986,at 1:30 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 61. Mr.Praskavich was born Sept.19,1924,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Wassil and Catherine Yadlosky Praskavich. He had attended the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. A U.S.Army veteran,he was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion. Mr.Praskavich retired in 1985 from the coke plant of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Monessen Plant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife,Edna Mae Bloom Praskavich,in 1985. Survivors include one daughter,Mrs.Ronald (Diana) Smaracheck of Monessen,two sons,Kevin Koval at home and George Koval of Portland,Ore.,three brothers,John Praskavich of West Newton,Walter Praskavich of Long Branch and Daniel Praskavich of Parma,Ohio,five sisters,Ann Bosetti of Belle Vernon,Eva Mazur of Monessen,Helen Wujick of Connecticut,Nellie Tomko of Belle Vernon and Doris Guth of Hobart,Ind.,and two grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Monday,June 2,at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Charles LaPlaca,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,offciating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
