Obituary

James Franklin (Frank)Polen of 420 Henry St.,Belle Vernon (Rostraver Twp.),died Saturday.Oct.12,1985,at 8 p.m. in the Sandy McLuckie Personal Care Home,Monessen. Mr.Polen was born in Smithfield,Ohio,a son of the late John and Eva Crisswell Polen. A resident of the Belle Vernon area the past 45 years,he was a Presbyterian by faith. Mr.Polen was a retired freight agent from the Pennyslvania and West Virginia Railroad,now known as the Norfolk and Western Railroad. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Martha Rupert Polen,on July 13,1968,and by two brothers,Harry Polen and J.Dean Polen. Survivors include a son,Richard Polen of Morgantown,W.Va.,two daughters,Sue C.Miller of Belle Vernon and Marianne Reday of Levittown,Pa.,one brother,Robert Polen of Hopedale,Ohio,two sisters,Mary Dickerson of Hopedale,Ohio,and Dayse Polen of Smithfield,Oh,six grandchildren,and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday,Oct.15,at 11 a.m. with the pastor of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
