George Pearce of Belle Vernon R.D.3,died Friday, April 6,1979, at 2:30 p.m. in Mon Valley Hosptial. He was 69. Mr. Pearce was born April 10,1909,in Monessen,a son of the late James and Sara Shaw Pearce. He was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Survivors include his widow, Eva D. Pearce;three sons, James G. Pearce of Monongahela R.D.3,George R. Pearce of Belle Vernon and Thomas D. Pearce of Smithton; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Nancy) Lackner of Old Bridge, N. J.,Mrs. Michael (Mary) Sabolchick of Rahway, N.J. and Mrs. Eugene (Linda) Lebe of Smithton R.D.1; two step-children,Lynn D. Parshall of Perryopolis R.D.2 and Twila Strickler,at home; two sisters,Mrs. Louise Gido of Monessen and Mrs. Bertha Peters of Clairton, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the James C. Stump Funeral Home,Inc.,Rostraver Twp.,from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon W. Whitney officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The James C. Stump Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
