Willis F. O'Neil sr.,88,of Greensburg,formerly of Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Oct. 16,1997,in Westmoreland Manor,Greensburg,following a lengthy illness. Born July 12,1909,in Fayette City,he was the son of the late James A. and Viola Elvira Farquhar O'Neil. Mr. O'Neil was retired from the tube division of the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was Protestant by faith. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Leona Marie Simon;and a daughter,Beverly O'Neil. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are one daughter, Viola Kay Otley of Donora;two sons, Willis F. O'Neil Jr. of North Huntingdon and Edwin O'Neil of Donora;six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There will be private viewing for the family only at the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home Inc.,Fayette City. Funeral services will also be private,as will interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
