Obituary

Catherine "Kay" Muro Olszewski, 76,of 17 Grand St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Wednesday, May 28,1997,at 11:40 a.m. in the Emergency Room of Mon Valley Hosptial. She was born Feb. 3,1921,in Coney Island,N.Y.,a daughter of the late Antonio and Catalano Muro.  Mrs. Olszewski was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon Community.  She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,the Annita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas,Belle Vernon Court 1522. She was tax collector for the Belle Vernon borough for the past six years. She had been employed at the former Miller' Clothing Store in Charleroi and had also worked as a clerk at the Fayette County Courthouse. Surviving are her husband, Josph Olszewski,whom she would have been married for 55 years on Oct. 2; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph W. and Sharon Olszewski Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.,and Leonard C. and Cindy Olszewski; a daughter-in-law,Nancy Olszewski of Belle Vernon;one brother and sister-in-law,Sabatino (Sammy) and Margaret Muro of Belle Vernon;four grandchildren,Kelly L. Harvey and Joseph W. Olszewski III,both of Belle Vernon,Danielle Braitenback of Las Vegas,Nev.,and Amanda Olszewski and three great-grandchildren,Sonya Harvey of Belle Vernon and Bill and Kevin Braitenback,both of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Muro.and a nephew, Alan Muro. Friends will be received in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer service will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home,followed by Funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John R. Cindric, V.F.,pastor,as celebrant.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
