Obituary

William T.Overand of Belle Vernon R.D.2 died Saturday,Oct.11,1986,in the Waddington Convalescent Home,Fayette City. He was 80. Mr.Overand was born March 1,1906 in Rostraver Twp.,a son of the late James and Lydia Shaw Overand. He was a retired school teacher,having taught and coached football at Monessen,Rostraver Twp.and South Hungtingdon Twp. A Methodist by faith,Mr.Overand was a U.S.Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He had served both as a squire in Webster and as a district magistrate in the Belle Vernon area for many years. Mr.Overand was a member and past master of Donora F&AM Lodge No.626. Mr.Overand was a member of the Consistory and Syria Temple of Pittsburgh and the Fayette City Beagle Club. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Nellie Speer Overand,on Aug. 5,1986,by three brothers,Harry,James and Edgar Overand,and by one sister,Ann Yates. Surviving are one step-son,Gerald A.Gillingham,of Carisle,Pa.,one sister,Sarah Overand,of Finleyville,five grandchildren,one great-grandchild,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the James C.Stump Funeral Home,Sweeney Plan,Rostraver Twp. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home,with the Rev.Charles L.Barber,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon. Donora F&AM Lodge No.626 will hold services in the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. The James C.Stump Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
