Obituary

William W.O'Hara of 606 Fayette Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday,Nov.13,1984,at 9:20 a.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 67. Mr.O'Hara was born Feb.9,1917,in Rostraver Township,a son of the late Francis and Mabel Houseman O'Hara. A lifelong Belle Vernon resident,he was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic minister and commentator. Mr.O'Hara was also a member of the church choir,the Holy Name Society and the Legion of Mary. He was a member of Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026,Valley of Hope Prayer Community and the Third Order of St.Francis,where he currently was serving as prefect. A former member of the Mon Valley Barbershop Chorus,Mr.O'Hara has served on the Rostraver Township Recreation Board for five years. He was active in the Meals on Wheels Program in the Belle Vernon Area. Mr.O'hara was a veteran of World War II,having served in the U.S.Army. He retired in 1980 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Monessen Plant,where he had been employed first as a craneman for 30 years and then as a motor inspector. Survivors include his wife,Jo Cetto O'Hara,two sons,William G.O'Hara of Washington,Pa.,and Patrick F.O'Hara of Greensburg.,one daughter,Mrs. Thomas (Mary Jo) Delsandro of Rostraver Twp.,two sisters,Mrs.Stanley (Ann) Barch and Mrs.Addison (Frances) Bowers,both of Belle Vernon,and two granddaughters,Shelly Beth O'Hara of Washington,Pa.,and Kathleen Maria Delsandro of Rostraver Twp. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held on Friday,Nov.16,at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 services will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home followed by Third Order of St.Francis services at 7:30 p.m. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
