Leota Faye Nash of 20 Chestnut St.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;Oct.4;1987;at 9:40 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 88. Mrs.Nash was born Dec.2;1898;in Belle Vernon; a daughter of the late Balser and Katherine Dugan Miller. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and the Belle Vernon American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs.Nash was a retired school teacher;having taught at the old Lenity School in 1918 and at the LaGrange School from 1919 to 1920 and from 1946 until retiring in 1962. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband;James Nash;in 1973;a son;George;1954;and by two sisters;Mary Mazza and June Gohosky. Survivors include one son;James M.Nash of Monessen;a daughter;Mrs.Robert (Leota) Bahrenburg of Bettendorf;Iowa;a daughter-in-law;Grace Nash of Anchorage;Alaska;a sister;Katherine Bryan of Belle Vernon;a brother-in-law;Albert Gohosky of Belle Vernon;six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p;m; and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Wednesday;Oct.7;at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Charles LaPlaca officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon of the Belle Vernon Public Library.
