Benjamin F.Nichols Sr.905 Leeds Ave.;Monessen;died Friday;May 24;1985;at 2:02 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 69. Mr.Nichols was born in Belle Vernon on March 9;1916;a son of the late John Thomas and Katherine Caroll Nichols. He was a resident of Monessen most of his life. He was retired from the electric department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen plant. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the Monessen Eagles and Croatian clubs;and American Legion Post 28. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a daughter;Eileen. Survivors include his wife;Edith Martin Nichols;five daughters;Mrs.John (Shirley) Kudlik of Monessen;Mrs.Robert (Patricia) Stout and Mrs.Allen (Alice) McElfresh;both of Donora;Mrs.Bernadette Keegan of Monessen;and Mrs.Ronald (Gloria Ann) Soltis of Belle Vernon;four sons;John Thomas and Charles Edward;both of Columbus;Ohio;Benjamin Jr.at home;and Carl Richard of Bentleyville;a sister;Mrs. Ethel Holland of Belle Vernon;and a brother;Carl of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home;Inc.;Monessen;on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a prayer service being held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev.Joseph Traynor officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Robert A.Billick Funeral Home Inc.is handling the arrangements.
